Privacy, terms & cookies.
The legal documents that govern GitFoundry's services. Written in plain English wherever possible.
Who we are
GitFoundry is a UK-based web studio. For any privacy-related enquiry, contact [email protected].
What data we collect
We collect only what is necessary to respond to your enquiry and deliver your project:
- Your name and email address (from the project brief form)
- Details you provide about your project
- Analytics data via Google Analytics (anonymised IP, browser type, pages visited)
How we use it
Personal data is used only to reply to your enquiry, deliver the service you've commissioned, and comply with our legal obligations (e.g. tax records). We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties except where required by law.
Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. Contact us at [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.
Data retention
Enquiry data is retained for 12 months unless a project proceeds, in which case project records are retained for 6 years to meet UK tax requirements.
Scope
These terms apply to all website design and development services provided by GitFoundry to clients in the UK and internationally.
Quotes & pricing
All prices are quoted in GBP and include VAT where applicable. Quotes are valid for 30 days. The fee covers the scope described in the original brief: additional work is agreed separately.
Payment
For Launch and Presence projects ordered through our online checkout, the full build fee is due at checkout. We then prepare your preview. Bespoke work is quoted separately, and any deposit or staged payment terms are stated in the quote before work begins. Projects are not deployed to production until the agreed payment clears.
Revisions and refunds
One fresh design direction is included after your first preview. Tell us what should feel different, and we make one more pass and send you a new preview.
If the fresh pass does not produce a working preview after our recovery attempt, we refund you in full without you having to ask. If the fresh preview is ready, any further changes can be discussed separately rather than keep rebuilding within the original order.
Refunds return to the card used for payment. Your bank may take a few working days to show it.
Ownership
On final payment, the complete source code is transferred to the client. The client owns all custom design work, content, and code produced specifically for their project.
Third-party services
Where a project uses third-party services (GitHub Pages, Formspree, domain registrars), the client is responsible for maintaining those accounts after handover.
Liability
Our liability is limited to the fees paid for the specific project. We cannot be held liable for business losses, third-party service outages, or issues arising from client-made changes post-handover.
